Various skill development programmes are being conducted for young boys and girls. The number of beneficiary is increasing year by year.

NON - FORMAL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE FOR BOYS:

TMSSS is running a non-formal industrial training institute namely St.Ignatius Industrial Training Institute for the welfare of the young boys of the diocese. This ITI affords 4 trades namely; 1. Metal trade, 2. Welder and Fitter, 3. Two Wheeler mechanism and 4. Four wheeler mechanism. TMSSS avail boarding and lodging facility at minimal cost. This year 67 poor youth benefited from the training programme.

NON - FORMAL EDUCATION TO RURAL GIRLS:

To witness the concept "empowerment of women", TMSSS takes efforts and launching many programmes for women. Non-formal Education is one of them. TMSSS is running a home science training centre at Keelapuliangulam namely " Grihini School" for the rural girls. Trainings like Tailoring, handi craft making training, animal rearing, gardening and catering are being taught to the girls. The fee collected is very very nominal. This centre provides boarding and lodging facility. At present there are 16 young girls having their training in the institute.

COMPUTER CENTER

In order to afford computer knowledge to the future generation and to the youth TMSSS is running a computer centre with latest technology. The core objective of the centre is equip the younger generation in computer filed to face the needs of the competitive world. Government certified course is conducted as the full time course. Also short term courses also being conducted. The fee collected is very nominal. At present there are 25 students being trained.
